International Credit Card Transaction Fees
Using a credit card overseas is convenient and does provide protection. Before you leave, contact the credit card issuer to identify any applicable fees and/or determine what cards you carry will offer you the best benefit while you are overseas.

Yes!! this is so important!! most people don't realize that international credit card processing fees apply when you make transactions overseas.
just recently, I incurred almost $500 in fees alone on a trip to Tokyo!
